A new lesbian advocacy organization, Lesbians United, has just launched today in the US. Lesbians United aims to help pick up the slack where organizations, that formerly protected lesbians, have failed and deserted the lesbian community.

Through colorful graphics and social media posts, the organization “takes aim at the U.S. medical establishment and doctors who push young lesbians toward lifelong medicalization.” The group is targeting pharmaceutical companies, gender clinics, and the American Psychiatric Association.

“Formerly gay and lesbian organizations are now actively working against the rights of human dignity of lesbians.”

Lesbians United is lesbian-run, on a volunteer basis. Their mission is to advocate “for the health and well-being of lesbians through public information campaigns that expose homophobia and malpractice in the medical establishment.”

The founder, who goes by T, is not using her name “out of concern that she and her partner may become targets for homophobic harassment.” She says “lesbians are living in a drought.” Lesbians United researcher, a self-described butch lesbian who goes by P, says, “In the 90s, we had a thriving community… We can have that again. It won’t be an easy battle, but Lesbians United is prepared to do the work.” The group programmer, who goes by C, was raised in a cult, and recognizes cult behavior when she sees it. She says, “In 2019, my employers, colleagues, and friends all began suggesting I was trans. Since then, I’ve been routinely singled out by managers, instructors, and random strangers. I’m tired of lesbians bearing the brunt of the collateral damage of this culture war…”

The organization states, Across the United States, doctors, psychiatrists, and surgeons are performing medical experiments on children who show early signs of homosexuality. Young lesbians in particular are being pushed to ‘transition’… In order to expose the inherent homophobia of so-called ‘child transition’ and ensure that the relevant facts are publicly available, Lesbians United launched our inaugural public information campaign, Understanding Child Transition, on February 1, 2022.”

Lesbians United has many initiatives scheduled for release over the next several months, including campaigns that are focused on lesbian health, lesbian history, and community. They also plan to release an activism guide, articles, and hold exclusive online meet-ups.

The organization’s press release states, “Lesbians United hopes to create and maintain lines of communication among lesbians in the U.S., with the goal of bringing the scattered lesbian community back together.”
